I bought the car just for the engine; it's currently running in a later 635CSi. Since I'd updated the Bosch electronics, I didn't end up needing this part.
It seems to be in great shape: the air flap moves easily, as they all should. It also passed some basic electrical resistance tests on my bench, but I don't have the equipment to properly test Bosch AFMs.
I removed the cover and cleaned up the remaining sealant, since I'd assume the next owner may want to test or calibrate it. I'd guess it's been. Removed and re-sealed a few times, due to the a few minor nicks & scratches. That's not unusual for these cars, they all tend to have a. The stock intake snorkel had been replaced with an adapter to suit a conical air filter.I do not have the original aluminum snout available, please consult the pictures for details. I'm told that the smaller M20 AFM electronics can be swapped into this larger AFM chassis for a cheap high-flow AFM. Calibration would be required in that case.
